Need new music in your life?! Here are 5 up-and-coming artists that you should add to your playlists now @ @ #newmusic Click To Tweet

1. EBHONI (Toronto, Canada)

We first mentioned Ebhoni before and her music is so good that it definitely bears repeating. I also feel that her sound is so unique because she’s from Toronto and draws inspiration from multiple sources. I’d recommend listening to any track off her Mood Ring EP and then remember that she is only 17-years-old. This is just the start for Ebhoni and we can’t wait to see what else she does.

Especially bangin’ if you enjoy Daniel Caesar, a l l i e, or Rainy Milo.

2. KARI FAUX (Little Rock, Arkansas)

If you’ve been watching the amazing HBO show Insecure, then you’ll recognize the voice of Kari Faux. Her songs have been featured in both seasons and for good reason – her music is so damn good. If you love 90’s lyrical rap, then you’ll definitely become a fan of Faux. The self-proclaimed “Rap Game Daria” does not disappoint. Last month, she released a 7-track EP titled Primary, which you can check out on SpotifyIf you’re not listening to Kari Faux, you’re doing it wrong!

3. ARI LENNOX (Washington, D.C.)

Especially bangin’ if you’re into Ravyn Lenae, Snoh Aalegra, or Sabrina Claudio.

Lennox’s music is a delicious blend of alternative R&B, soul, and hip-hop. Lennox is signed to J. Cole’s label Dreamville, she’s able to effortlessly blend classic and contemporary vibes.

Start with ‘Backseat’ then move onto ‘Nightdrive‘, then to the track below and thank us later.

4. ALICE IVY (Melbourne, Australia)

The 23-year-old Melbourne artist/producer is what you would call a “genre-defying” artist, though I guess if I had to choose something I’d say her music resembles electronic soul, and so much more. This lady is super talented, you’re definitely going to want to keep an eye on her. Her latest release is a jazzy summer anthem titled ‘Be Friends‘ that has me eagerly waiting to hear more music from Ivy. I imagine you’ll be hearing her name a lot in 2018.

For fans of  J-Dilla, Confidence Man, and Saatsuma.

5. MABEL (London, England)

Ah, Mabel. This one is for my R&B/soul fans out there. Despite being born to famous parents (Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey), London R&B singer Mabel is forging her own path and is about to be really big. While her music is influenced by 90’s R&B, her sound is distinctly her own, a fact I think stems from her being raised in Sweden and London. Mabel just released the stellar Ivy to Roses mixtape. Mabel has been on the scene since 2015 with ‘Know Me Better‘ and ‘My Boy My Town‘ and now she is poised to be the next big thing. We hope she comes to San Francisco soon! 🙂

For fans of Jorja Smith, NAO, and 90’s R&B.
