Blimes Brixton – ‘Look At Me Now’
From the first line you know Blimes means business: “Yeah I’m from the bay we a different breed.”
Her latest video, which has already passed 20,000 views, sees Brixton with her crew showing some real love to the bay, complete with gorgeous shots of SF and references to Andre Nickatina. Blimes Brixton is the co-creator of Peach House, an all-female hip-hop label based in LA and ‘Look At Me Now’ is the fourth single Blimes has released this year.
What we love most about the video isn’t even the imagery (which is on point), it’s the themes of self-love, growth, and collaboration that run throughout the song and screen. It’s the fact that hip-hop is changing and evolving. It’s the fact that ‘Look At Me Now’ reminds us that music can inspire and uplift us. Make sure you watch the video through to the end, you’ll be sure to have a smile on your face. We need more of this breed in the world, especially in the world of hip-hop.Yeah I’m from the bay we a different breed @blimesbrixton #newmusic #lookatmenow Click To Tweet
